Job Description

Leeds Beckett University is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our Estates and Facilities team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the commercial management and delivery of the University's capital and revenue projects. Working across a diverse portfolio of estates activities, you will provide professional quantity surveying, procurement, contract management and commercial assurance services, helping to ensure projects are delivered effectively, efficiently and with strong financial and commercial control.

You will work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, professional advisers and colleagues across the University, providing expert advice on cost, procurement, contracts and risk. You will be instrumental in identifying and resolving commercial and contractual issues, supporting informed decision-making and helping to deliver positive outcomes for the University and its stakeholders.

We are looking for a qualified or professionally developing Quantity Surveyor with strong experience of working within a construction, estates or property environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
