Quantity Surveyor - Ultra-Prime Residential

Our client are a multi-award-winning luxury design and delivery business specialising in ultra-prime residential property. Our integrated team provides architecture, interior design, development management, construction delivery, and private client services, delivering exceptional homes in some of the world's most prestigious locations.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking two ambitious and commercially astute Quantity Surveyors to join our Projects & Delivery team.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of high-value luxury residential projects, from pre-construction through to final account.

Working closely with project managers, architects, designers, contractors, and private clients, you will provide expert commercial support to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards while maintaining robust cost control, programme, and risk management.

This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious Quantity Surveyors looking to develop their careers within a highly respected luxury construction and design business, working on some of the UK's most prestigious residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Manage and monitor project costs throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Assist with procurement strategies, tender preparation, and tender evaluation.
  • Review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and administer contracts and subcontract agreements.
  • Monitor project expenditure and provide accurate and timely cost reporting.
  • Assess variations, valuations, and change control.
  • Provide commercial advice to project teams and support effective risk management.
  • Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets, programmes, and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of commercial processes, systems, and best practice.

About You

We are looking for motivated and commercially minded professionals who are passionate about construction, have excellent attention to detail, and are keen to develop their careers within the luxury residential sector.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement, cost control, and project financial management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within high-end residential, luxury fit-out, heritage, or bespoke construction projects.
  • Progress towards, or an aspiration to achieve, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Good knowledge of JCT contract forms.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth private clients and their representatives.
  • Experience working on complex, high-value residential projects.

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out, refurbishment, or residential projects.
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, budgeting, procurement, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages and supplier relationships.
  • Good knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management processes.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable

  • Experience within high-end residential, luxury fit-out, heritage, or bespoke construction projects.
  • Working towards or holding RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Experience supporting projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Understanding of change control, variations, and risk management.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients and design-led projects.
