Quantity Surveyor
Location: Exeter (South West England) Base: South West area (travel across multiple projects)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join Galliford Try, one of the UK’s leading principal contractors.
Ideally, you will be based in or near the South West area and be prepared to travel across regional projects.
Responsibilities
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Tender allowance analysis
- Measurement and valuation of works:
- From drawings, interfacing with site valuations
- Preparing valuations, managing variations and final accounts
- Agreement on valuation dates and submitting compliant interim valuations
- Administering or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
- Supporting subcontracting and design procurement, including negotiations
- Managing subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts
- Submitting Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Cost-to-complete reporting
- Cash flow management, cash maximisation, and forecasting (turnover forecasts)
- Generating standard reports
- Producing internal valuations, CVRs, and subcontract liability reports in line with scheduling and deadlines

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must be able to:
- Demonstrate experience within the construction industry, particularly with a main contractor specialising in Design and Build
- Have a comprehensive understanding of JCT and NEC construction conditions
- Work independently while actively collaborating with a team
- Hold a degree qualification, along with being a member of RICS or IOB (or studying for membership)
