Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Llanelli. The Quantity Surveyor will manage cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle, from initial estimates to final account settlement.

The role involves producing regular cost reports, forecasting financial performance, and identifying potential cost risks or savings. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, site teams, and management to ensure projects are delivered within budget while meeting quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong cost control and cost management skills, with experience in monitoring budgets and managing project finances.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in BOQ preparation and cost planning to support accurate estimating and tendering.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in cost reporting, including the ability to produce clear, timely financial forecasts and variance analyses.
  • Candidates should possess solid numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Candidates should possess strong communication and negotiation skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Candidates should possess experience with construction contracts, standard forms of contract, and relevant regulations.
  • Candidates should possess competency in using quantity surveying or construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, would be beneficial.
  • Membership or working toward membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) would be an advantage.
