Quantity Surveyor - Thames Water Framework

Hampton | £45,000 - £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team delivering a major capital works framework for Thames Water.

Based from their shared offices in Hampton, you'll support the commercial delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, and water storage facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of schemes while developing your career within one of the UK's leading utilities and water contractors.

The Role

Working as part of an established commercial team, you'll be responsible for the financial and contractual management of multiple projects from inception through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing project costs and ensuring commercial performance targets are achieved
  • Preparing and submitting applications for payment
  • Producing cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts
  • Identifying, pricing, and agreeing variations and compensation events
  • Administering contracts (NEC) and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Supporting the management of project risk and opportunity registers
  • Working closely with operational teams to monitor project performance and drive value
  • Assisting with the preparation and negotiation of client submissions
  • Supporting dispute avoidance and commercial resolution activities
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, or construction sectors
  • Strong understanding of cost management, subcontract administration, and commercial reporting
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management
  • Experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Ambitious and motivated with a desire to develop your career within a leading contractor
