Quantity Surveyor – Blyth, UK

Blyth, UK · Full-time · Permanent

Description

PE Global Recruitment is partnering with a leading European data centre delivery specialist on a major project in Blyth. With a strong track record delivering large-scale mission-critical developments across Europe, the organisation is continuing to expand its project and commercial teams.

We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team and support the delivery of a major data centre development.

This would suit a Quantity Surveyor with around 2–5 years' construction experience who is looking to broaden their commercial experience and take the next step in their career. You will work closely with experienced commercial professionals, gaining exposure to subcontract management, procurement, cost control, valuations and the wider commercial delivery of a large construction project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the commercial management of subcontractor packages from procurement through to completion.
  • Support the commercial team with tendering, package development and procurement activities.
  • Review subcontractor pricing and provide input into commercial evaluations.
  • Help manage subcontract documentation and ensure records are maintained throughout the project.
  • Assist with assessing work completed and preparing monthly payment and valuation documentation.
  • Support the review and management of variations, additional works and commercial changes.
  • Track expenditure against agreed budgets and highlight potential cost issues.
  • Contribute to project cost forecasts, cash flow information and commercial reporting.
  • Assist with the assessment of applications and payments from project stakeholders.
  • Support the commercial close-out of subcontract packages and preparation of final accounts.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, project managers, design teams and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organised commercial records and documentation.
  • Raise potential commercial risks or issues with the senior commercial team.
  • Gain exposure to measurement, construction methods, contractual processes and broader quantity surveying activities.
  • Contribute to the successful commercial delivery of the project as part of the wider site team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
