Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: London
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing specialist project and cost management consultancy delivering complex, high-profile projects across the cultural, heritage, hospitality, commercial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, working closely with clients, and contributing to the successful delivery of unique and prestigious developments.

You'll work across every stage of the project lifecycle, providing expert cost management and commercial advice while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, feasibility studies and cost plans.
  • Manage project budgets from inception through to completion.
  • Produce tender documentation and support procurement activities.
  • Evaluate tenders and provide commercial recommendations.
  • Administer construction contracts and manage change control processes.
  • Value completed works and review contractor applications for payment.
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, risks and cash flow throughout delivery.
  • Provide accurate commercial reporting to clients and project teams.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
  • Support continuous improvement within the cost management team.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.

About You

You'll be commercially minded, organised and confident managing client relationships while delivering high-quality cost consultancy services.

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • 3-7 years' Quantity Surveying experience within a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Excellent cost planning and cost management skills.
  • Experience administering construction contracts.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
  • Experience within museums, heritage, exhibitions, hospitality, fit-out or high-end commercial projects.
  • Experience working on bespoke or design-led construction projects.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
