Quantity Surveyor

Are you looking for the role of Quantity Surveyor? Are you struggling to find one that will ignite your passion? Then please read on as we may just have the role for you.

At Riney we are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team in East London. You will be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Commercial Manager, Managing Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor. Working on commercial projects from pre contract stage through to completion, you will ensure contract returns are maximised, alongside completing forecasting across all areas within your works.

As the Quantity Surveyor you will ideally have worked in a similar industry with experience of working on Highways, Infrastructure or Maintenance Projects’ in your career.

Main Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor will include (not exhaustive):

  • Building strong relationships with internal and client counterparts as well as working with members of the team to attain your full potential
  • Engaging and managing sub-contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applications
  • Supporting the production of monthly CVR's
  • Working to produce both internal and client forecasts
  • Production and substantiation through to agreement of associated Final Accounts
  • Ensuring all JB Riney and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk
  • Working with the wider team and ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection

In this role you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the businesses of JB Riney, Tarmac and CRH

A car / car allowance is available with this role and therefore you must hold a FULL UK car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points - You must be able to travel across the region of work

The Ideal Candidate

As our ideal Quantity Surveyor here at JB Riney you will have:

ESSENTIAL - Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Surveying
ESSENTIAL - NEC TSC contract experience, together with ICC Term Contract knowledge

  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical ability
  • Process driven with strong commercial awareness and good negotiation skills

The role is based at located at Belvedere in Erith, South East London. This role is commutable from Greater London, Woolwich, Dagenham, Dartford, Rainham, Romford, East Ham, Wanstead, Gravesend, Hackney, Romford, Stratford, Orpington, Barking and the surrounding areas.
