Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

A housebuilder based in the Maidstone area is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. You'll take ownership of the commercial management of three live developments, ranging from 35 to 50 units each, working closely with Site Managers and the wider commercial team to keep costs under control from land purchase through to final account.

This is a good opportunity to join a business at an interesting point in its growth, with real visibility over your own sites rather than being one small part of a much larger commercial function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial delivery of three live developments (35–50 units each), from budget setting through to final account.
  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, and monthly valuations across all three sites.
  • Manage procurement of subcontractors and materials, including tendering and negotiation.
  • Agree monthly valuations and cash flow forecasts with the Commercial Manager.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, including variations, final accounts, and any dispute resolution.
  • Monitor costs against budget across all three developments, flagging risk early.
  • Liaise closely with Site Managers to keep commercial and construction teams aligned.
  • Support cost input into future land appraisals as the business grows its pipeline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
