Quantity Surveyor – Brickwork & Stonework

Location: London & Surrounding Areas (fully remote with site visits)

Sector: Construction / Brickwork & Stonework

Salary: Up to £85,000 (DOE)

A specialist masonry contractor operating across the brickwork and stonework sectors delivering high-quality projects across London and the surrounding areas is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused professional to take ownership of the financial and commercial management of projects and play an important role in the continued growth of the business.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs from tender through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project budgets and costs from tender through to completion
  • Preparing and reviewing tenders, quotations and variations
  • Monitoring project expenditure, costs and profitability
  • Valuing works and preparing applications for payment
  • Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts
  • Reviewing contracts and commercial terms
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and potential project risks
  • Maintaining accurate project records and financial reporting
  • Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients and main contractors
  • Supporting the wider commercial team and contributing to business growth

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, commercially minded and highly detail-focused, with the confidence to take responsibility for project finances.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within construction, brickwork or masonry
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with tenders, valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine ambition to develop and grow with the business
