The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of a range of projects, working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered profitably and in accordance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing projects from tender stage through to final account
- Preparing and reviewing valuations, applications for payment, and payment notices
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, and cash flow
- Preparing and agreeing variations, compensation events, and final accounts
- Procuring and managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Reviewing subcontractor applications and payments
- Preparing monthly cost/value reports and forecasts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting the project team with contract and commercial matters
- Maintaining accurate records of costs, quantities, and project changes
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within earthworks, groundworks, civil engineering, or construction
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management
- Experience with measuring and valuing earthworks and associated works
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting the wider project team
- A practical understanding of site operations and construction methodology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating/QS software

A relevant qualification such as HNC/HND, degree, or professional QS qualification is desirable, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
