Quantity Surveyor
Location: OHMG, Newry or Belfast Office, with travel to project sites and client meetings as required
Department: Commercial Division
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Division, supporting the successful commercial and contractual management of construction projects from handover through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts, and commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage variations, change control, commercial risks, and opportunities.
- Administer construction contracts and maintain accurate contractual records and notices.
- Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
- Assess subcontractor applications, variations, and final account submissions.
- Support procurement, subcontractor negotiations, and supply chain management.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Estimators, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Attend project, commercial, and client meetings as required.
- Prepare monthly cost/value reconciliations, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reports.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost efficiencies.
- Support and mentor Graduate QSs, HLA students, and junior commercial team members.

What We're Looking For
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry.
- Experience working within a main contractor environment.
- Experience across commercial, residential, fit-out, and/or refurbishment projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Full driving licence and access to own transport.

Desirable
- Knowledge of JCT, NEC, RIAI, and/or PWC contracts.
- Experience with cost reporting systems or ERP platforms.
- RICS, SCSI, CIOB, or equivalent professional accreditation, or working towards it.
- Experience mentoring junior commercial staff or students.
