Quantity Surveyor Opportunity in Thames Region
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to progress your career within the UK water and utilities sector? Finlay Jude are working with a leading infrastructure and engineering contractor who deliver essential water, wastewater and environmental services across the UK.
Our client is looking to strengthen their Commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor based within the Thames region, offering hybrid working and clear progression opportunities towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major water infrastructure framework, working closely with operational and client teams to support the successful delivery of critical projects.

Key Responsibilities as a Quantity Surveyor:
- Support the commercial management and administration of a live utilities contract
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts and performance analysis
- Assess, manage and agree subcontractor accounts
- Support the preparation and submission of applications for payment
- Produce commercial reports and client documentation
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value improvements across projects
- Work closely with operational delivery teams to maintain commercial control
- Assist in resolving commercial issues and contractual matters
- Ensure accurate record keeping and financial reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across commercial processes
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors and clients
- Take ownership of allocated workstreams and contribute to project success

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering or a similar environment
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and commercial administration
- Good knowledge of cost reporting, financial control and forecasting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and self motivated approach
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively within a fast paced project environment

Desirable:
- Experience working within the water or wastewater sector
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Working towards or holding professional membership (RICS/CICES or similar)
- Previous experience on framework or long term infrastructure contracts
