Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Weston-Super-Mare. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and manage Bills of Quantities, support cost planning and budgeting, and monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of each contract. Day-to-day responsibilities include cost reporting, valuation of works, preparation of interim and final accounts, and supporting procurement and tender evaluations. The role also involves liaising with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure cost efficiency, compliance with contractual obligations, and accurate financial forecasting for projects across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in cost planning and cost management, with the ability to develop accurate budgets and forecasts.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation and interpretation, including detailed quantity take-offs and measurement.
- Experience in cost control and cost reporting, including regular financial monitoring and variance analysis.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (degree or equivalent preferred).
- Knowledge of construction contracts, standard forms of contract, and commercial practices in the UK construction industry.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Cohearant in cost management principals, with weekly analysis of interim payment management, including final accounts, order management, variations, and supplier valuations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with site teams, clients, and suppliers on-site in Weston-Super-Mare.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost management software) and willingness to adopt new digital systems.
