Park Recruit are working with a leading construction contractor specialising in the delivery of large-scale data centre projects across the UK and Europe.
Job Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major data centre project in Blyth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with 2–5 years’ experience who is keen to develop their commercial experience within a major construction environment. You’ll work alongside an experienced commercial and project team, gaining exposure to subcontractor management, valuations, variations, cost reporting and the wider commercial delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior Quantity Surveyors with the commercial management of subcontractor packages.
- Assist with tender documentation, work packages, budgets and procurement.
- Review and analyse subcontractor tender returns.
- Prepare and administer subcontractor documentation.
- Assist with monthly valuations, payments and cost reporting.
- Support the assessment and management of variations, claims and other commercial matters.
- Monitor project costs and maintain accurate commercial records.
- Assist with cost/value reconciliation and cash flow reporting.
- Support the preparation and agreement of external valuations.
- Assist with subcontractor final accounts and commercial close-out.
- Liaise with subcontractors, clients, designers and internal project teams.
- Identify potential commercial issues and escalate where appropriate.
- Work closely with the wider project team to support successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience within a construction environment.
- Good understanding of construction processes, measurement and terminology.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a wider project team.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with CostX, Buildsoft or similar software would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Main contractor or data centre experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
