Quantity Surveyor Fit Out / Refurbishment
Location: Office-based in Northampton with nationwide travel (approx. once a week)
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Laptop & Phone + Pension + Travel Expenses
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays
Join a Leading Fit Out & Interiors Contractor
A long-established, financially secure fit-out and bespoke joinery contractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. The business delivers high-specification interior projects across the UK and Europe, with a strong reputation for quality, fast-track delivery and exceptional craftsmanship.
You'll be based in a modern, refurbished Northampton office with a stable team, excellent staff retention and a supportive culture. Their in-house joinery workshop gives them full control over quality and enables rapid turnaround on complex, design-led projects.

You'll manage a diverse portfolio of fast-moving schemes including:
- Sports & Stadium Facilities
- Major UK football clubs
- Changing rooms, bars, specialist joinery, performance spaces
- £5m+ arena projects and a strong two-year pipeline
- High-End Retail
- Premium fashion and lifestyle brands
- Fast-turnaround, design-sensitive environments
- Commercial & Trade
- National builders merchants
- Bespoke joinery-led refurbishments and fit-outs

Projects typically range from £1m-£4m, with occasional schemes up to £16m. Programmes run 4-12 weeks with multiple packages and subcontractors.
The Role
Quantity Surveyor
You'll take full commercial ownership of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account. This is a fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly and procurement cycles move fast.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial delivery across multiple fast-track fit-out projects
- Prepare valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Measure and value works on site accurately and efficiently
- Procure specialist packages within tight lead times
- Manage and negotiate subcontractor accounts
- Oversee 8-18 work packages and 4-13 subcontractors per project
- Produce clear cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates
- Attend site visits once to twice per week
- Support smooth delivery across short programmes and concurrent schemes
What We're Looking For
- Experience in fit-out/refurbishment within commercial contracting or subcontracting
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Comfortable working on fast-paced, tight-turnaround projects
- Confident communicator with a relationship-focused approach
- Able to manage rapid procurement cycles and short lead times
- Qualifications helpful but not essential capability matters most
