An established and highly regarded specialist façade contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

The business delivers a wide range of façade projects across the UK, covering recladding, external wall insulation (EWI), façade refurbishment, and new-build schemes. The work ranges from high-rise external refurbishment and building safety remediation through to large-scale residential retrofit and new-build developments. This is an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to take genuine commercial ownership of projects within a specialist environment, working closely with operations, clients, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, including:

  • Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments.
  • Undertaking cost analysis across refurbishment, maintenance, and façade works.
  • Supporting tender reviews and procurement activities.
  • Producing accurate CVRs, cost reports, and commercial forecasts.
  • Assisting with contract administration and contractual notices.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and putting appropriate actions in place.
  • Working closely with project and operational teams to maintain commercial control.
  • Attending client, progress, and commercial meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate financial and contractual records.
  • Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects through to completion.

The Projects

The business works across a broad range of façade and building improvement projects, including:

  • External Wall Insulation (EWI)
  • Recladding and façade remediation
  • High-rise refurbishment
  • Residential refurbishment
  • New-build façade packages
  • Building safety and cladding remediation
  • Energy efficiency and social housing retrofit
  • Specialist façade finishes and systems

The company has delivered projects involving major building safety and retrofit programmes, including high-rise residential schemes and Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund projects.

About You

We're looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable taking responsibility for project commercial performance.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
  • Experience across façades, refurbishment, property services, cladding, or a related environment.
  • Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
  • Strong cost reporting and forecasting experience.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Façade or cladding experience would be highly advantageous, but relevant QS experience within construction, refurbishment, or property services will also be considered.
