Quantity Surveyor – Structural Steel & Rail

Location: Leicester
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Opportunity

Some projects are measured in tonnes of steel. Others are measured in deadlines, margins and the ability to keep a complex contract commercially on track.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business and play a key role within its commercial team, supporting the successful financial delivery of projects across the business.

Working closely with Contract and Project Managers, you’ll be involved across the commercial lifecycle — from valuations and variations through to cost reporting, procurement and final accounts.

The role will also provide commercial support to the rail division, giving you exposure to a varied portfolio of projects and contract environments.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the Contract and Project Management teams with the day-to-day commercial and financial management of projects.

You’ll be responsible for helping ensure contract requirements are followed, financial information remains accurate and commercial risks are identified and managed before they become problems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
