Quantity Surveyor
Our Client is an established Design & Build (D&B) Fit Out firm specialising in design-led, high-end commercial fit-out projects. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to focus on delivering projects ranging between £1 million - £8 million, with an average project around £3 million. You will be supported by a Senior Commercial Manager to begin with and then be moving towards managing your own multiple projects.
The Business:
- Established 15 years ago, delivering 3,000+ office projects to date
- Provides workplace design, architecture, fit-out, interiors, and furniture consultancy
- Clients range from start-ups and global corporates to institutional landlords
- Design-led business with a modern, progressive approach to construction
- Core focus on CAT A / CAT B fit-outs, typically £100k–£10m in value
- Great opportunities for internal promotions, with strong examples already
- Known for creating design-led, people-centric workplaces that balance creativity with buildability

Duties:
- Manage the commercial performance and financial control of multiple workplace fit-out projects.
- Prepare, review, and manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and identify cost risks, variances, and opportunities.
- Manage the procurement process, including subcontractor and supplier packages, tendering, and commercial negotiations.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations, orders, and contracts.
- Prepare and manage subcontractor/supplier payments, valuations, and final accounts.
- Manage client valuations, applications for payment, invoicing, and cash collection.
- Administer variations, change orders, and commercial instructions, ensuring they are properly valued and recorded.
- Identify, price, and negotiate additional works and variations with clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and provide regular commercial reporting to senior management.
- Monitor project margins, profitability, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and manage the commercial risk register, identifying potential exposures and mitigation measures.
- Review project contracts and ensure compliance with commercial and contractual obligations.
- Assist project teams with contractual notices, extensions of time, loss and expense, and other commercial matters where applicable.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Procurement, and Operations to ensure commercial decisions support project delivery.
