Quantity Surveyor

Durham | Hybrid Working (2 Days from Home)
£50,479 per annum + £2,142 Car Allowance
37 Hours per Week | Permanent
Closing Date: Friday 7 August

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing asset management team delivering a significant programme of planned investment works across residential properties and communities. With a substantial capital investment programme underway, this role offers the chance to make a real impact while benefiting from flexible hybrid working arrangements.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing commercial and contractual support across a range of planned maintenance and investment projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, risks are effectively managed, and value for money is achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Managing valuations, variations, certifications, and final accounts.
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual and financial requirements.
  • Monitoring budgets, cashflow, and commercial performance.
  • Assisting with tender documentation, pricing schedules, and procurement activities.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections of works in progress.
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and delivering value for money across projects.

The Successful Quantity Surveyor will have:

  • Chartered status, a relevant degree, or substantial equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • A proven track record in quantity surveying, contract administration, procurement, and budget management within the construction sector.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within social housing or property investment projects would be advantageous.
