Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Southampton

Tier 1 Contracting working on a range of negotiated and framework opportunities across the South Coast up to GBP50 million in value on JCT and NEC forms of contract.
The Role
They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Southern regional business unit based out of the Southampton office.
Working on exciting building and infrastructure projects across the region, you will manage commercial performance from tender to final account. You'll drive maximum financial value, manage commercial risk, and maintain strong subcontractor and client relationships.
Initial scheme is a GBP30 million steel-framed warehouse and office building near Southampton on NEC4 form of contract. Procurement and then move onto site and manage through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial aspects of live projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations (NEC/JCT).
- Prepare and issue monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), forecast updates, and financial reports.
- Oversee procurement of trade packages, conducting tender evaluations, negotiations, and formal appointments.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, including variations, progress payments, and final accounts.
- Work closely with the site project delivery team to identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Ensure timely applications for payment and proactive cash flow management.
What They Are Looking For
- Qualifications: Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (RICS accreditation is desirable).
- Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
- Contract Knowledge: Strong, working knowledge of main standard forms of contract (particularly NEC and JCT).
- Skills: High numerical accuracy, sharp commercial acumen, excellent negotiation capabilities, and proficient Excel skills.
- Clearance: Ability to undergo standard pre-employment checks, including BPSS clearance where required for specific sector schemes.
