About The Role

A Quantity Surveyor is sought in Plymouth to join a construction team delivering projects across education, healthcare, commercial, retail, and industrial sectors. This full-time role, offering £50,000 to £55,000 per annum plus package, is central to commercial success. Responsibilities include leading on procurement, budgeting, and cost management, while preparing financial reports and tracking performance through CVRs. The successful candidate will manage supply chain relationships, support sustainability and social value initiatives, and liaise with clients and site teams. We’re seeking a skilled and commercially savvy Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established team delivering a variety of construction projects across the region. This role plays a pivotal part in the commercial success of each project, from procurement and budgeting to reporting and stakeholder engagement. Projects include, Education, Healthcare Services, Commercial, Retail, and Industrial Sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on budgeting, procurement, and cost management across construction projects
  • Build and manage relationships within a robust supply chain
  • Prepare financial reports and track project performance, including CVRs
  • Support sustainability and social value initiatives, including alignment with frameworks
  • Liaise with clients, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Provide oversight on contractual matters and assist with dispute resolution when required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (degree or equivalent)
  • Membership or working towards RICS (or similar professional body)
  • Knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts and construction legislation
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical reporting skills
  • Understanding of sustainable procurement and social value frameworks
  • Familiarity with ISO-certified management systems is a plus
