About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join our fabulous design and build fit-out team.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, working across a variety of commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects. You will report to our Head of Pre-construction and be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to completion working closely with our project management, design and delivery teams.
We are looking for someone who is confident dealing with subcontractors, suppliers and clients, has strong commercial awareness and is able to manage their own workload. We want someone who is inspired by the spaces we create and wants to make their mark on the company. We would also consider a strong experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Prepare and review project cost plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with tendering and procurement, including obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare, issue and manage subcontract orders.
- Monitor project costs and expenditure, identifying any potential risks or areas of overspend.
- Manage variations, valuations and commercial changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and agree subcontractor applications, payments and final accounts.
- Prepare and submit client valuations and applications for payment.
- Maintain accurate project cost reports and provide regular commercial updates to the wider team.
- Work closely with the Project Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered commercially and efficiently.
- Assist with the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure contractual and commercial procedures are followed throughout the project.

About You
We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, organised and confident working in a project-driven environment.
You will have:
- Previous experience working as an Assistant QS/QS, within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or construction.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement and subcontract management.
- Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts.
- Good commercial and financial awareness.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Great communication and negotiation skills. The ability to build relationships and be the face of 2G.
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider project team.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge costs and identify opportunities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial/construction software.

A relevant Quantity Surveying or construction-related qualification is highly desirable, but specific experience and commercial ability are equally important.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Benefits depending on experience
