Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Competitive + package DOE

Sector: Housebuilding / Residential Development

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Our client is a well-established and growing house builder operating across Central Scotland. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a busy residential environment, working closely with experienced commercial and operational teams on a range of housing developments.

A strong understanding of groundworks and infrastructure packages is beneficial for the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the commercial management of residential developments from inception through to final account
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
  • Preparing and reviewing subcontract orders and valuations
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting on budgets
  • Assisting with monthly CVRs and cost reporting
  • Managing variations and subcontractor accounts
  • Supporting the Senior QS/Commercial Manager with day-to-day commercial activities
  • Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Reviewing and managing groundwork and infrastructure costs across developments

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within housebuilding or residential construction
  • Good knowledge of groundworks and infrastructure packages
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Full UK driving licence
