Overview
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a close-knit consultancy where your contribution makes a real difference. You'll work on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects while receiving ongoing support to develop your career.
Duties
Key responsibilities include:
- Measuring building works in accordance with the RICS New Rules of Measurement (NRM).
- Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and carrying out quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Producing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects, including labour, materials, plant and associated costs.
- Assisting with budgeting, cost planning and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing strategies to minimise project costs.
- Preparing tender documentation and producing coordinated tender packages.
- Liaising with Architects, Structural Engineers and Civil Engineers to ensure coordinated project delivery.
- Reviewing consultants' design reports, drawings and technical information.
- Assisting with contract administration and commercial management of projects.
- Maintaining accurate records of information issued and received between clients, consultants and contractors.
- Attending site visits, progress meetings, design workshops and client meetings.
- Carrying out site measurements and valuations where required.
- Supporting the wider team with general project and office duties.

Requirements
We're looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying accredited by the RICS, or be working towards RICS Chartered status.
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction industry.
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant project experience.
- A good understanding of UK construction methods, building systems and construction techniques.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and professional approach.
- A desire to develop their career within a growing consultancy.
- A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
