Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – Cladding

Location: Cardiff

Sector: Construction / Cladding / Building Envelope

Role: Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing specialist cladding business based in Cardiff.

The company delivers specialist cladding and building envelope projects across the region and is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor who wants to develop their career within a specialist contractor.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity, offering the chance to work on technically interesting projects, develop strong specialist sector knowledge, and progress within a growing business.

The role is primarily Cardiff-based, although you will be required to travel to projects across the South West as part of the position.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of cladding projects, working closely with operational teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

  • Managing the commercial performance of cladding projects
  • Monitoring project budgets, costs, and forecasts
  • Subcontract procurement and management
  • Preparing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment
  • Managing variations, change control, and commercial risks
  • Preparing and agreeing subcontractor accounts
  • Managing project costs through to final account
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project margins
  • Providing commercial support and advice to project teams
  • Producing accurate commercial reports and forecasts
  • Developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Visiting projects across the South West when required

At Senior Quantity Surveyor level, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of larger or more complex projects, support less experienced members of the commercial team, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

About You

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience within construction, specialist contracting, cladding, roofing, facades, or the wider building envelope sector.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Commercial experience within a main contractor or specialist subcontractor environment
  • Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial management
  • Experience managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Excellent cost control and forecasting skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a wider team
  • A commercially driven and proactive approach
  • A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to projects in the South West
