This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to join our growing team in the North West, playing a key role in supporting the commercial success of a long-term strategic highways contract.

What will the role offer?

The salary is competitive (please enquire for more details). We offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid and flexible working arrangements where operationally possible.

What you will be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Senior Commercial Team in delivering the end-to-end commercial management of the Area 10 contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting across projects and workstreams
  • Maintaining monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), commercial plans and forecasting information
  • Supporting compliance with Amey's commercial processes, controls and governance requirements
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures

  • Identifying and preparing Early Warnings and Compensation Events in accordance with contract requirements
  • Supporting effective collaboration between Commercial and Operational Teams
  • Liaising with National Highways, client representatives and third parties regarding commercial matters, variations, claims and additional payments
  • Providing detailed estimates, validating Work Orders and issuing subcontract Task Orders
  • Challenging resource allocations and costs to ensure value for money
  • Working proactively to resolve commercial issues and support contract performance
  • Ensuring all commercial activities align with contractual requirements and reporting deadlines

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
