Project Quantity Surveyor – Remediation & External Refurbishment – Main Contractor – Clerkenwell

Salary/Package: £50,000 - £70,000 + 2 days WFH, travel expenses, pension & medical plan

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a well-established main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working across remediation and external refurbishment projects in London.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of their projects, acting as the main commercial point of contact and working closely with the operational team to ensure strong commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role will involve independently managing CVRs and cost reporting, taking an active role in the buying process and managing the commercial relationship with subcontractors and other key stakeholders.

The position would suit a Project Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contracting background. Experience within remediation, external refurbishment, facades or cladding would be advantageous, although specific sector experience is not essential.

Based primarily from the company's Clerkenwell office, the role will also involve semi-regular site visits across London. The business offers two days working from home per week, alongside travel expenses, pension and a medical plan.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
