About the role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of infrastructure projects, helping to ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently, and with strong financial control. Working closely with Project Managers and delivery teams, you'll influence key decisions from early planning through to final handover while supporting the successful delivery of critical national infrastructure.

Why this role matters

Delivering and maintaining energy infrastructure requires more than technical expertise. Strong commercial management is essential to ensuring projects deliver value, risks are effectively managed, and investment is used wisely. This role provides the commercial insight and challenge that helps projects stay on track and achieve successful outcomes.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play an important part in shaping infrastructure projects that support the safe and reliable operation of the UK's energy network. Your work will influence decision-making, protect project value, and help ensure critical infrastructure is delivered efficiently for the customers and communities that depend on it every day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
