Employment Type: Full-time

An established international technical engineering and construction organisation is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of complex, high-profile projects within the data centre sector.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in managing project costs, protecting margins and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Planners, and Operations teams, you will provide commercial support throughout the project lifecycle, covering cost control, variations, forecasting, risk identification, and contract administration.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on hyperscale data centre projects, strong commercial and contractual knowledge, and the ability to build effective relationships across project teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project costs and performance against budget, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Manage variations and changes to scope, including quotations, claims, and supporting documentation.
  • Support monthly valuations, cost reporting, forecasting, and cost/value reconciliation.
  • Administer contracts and subcontracts in line with contractual requirements.
  • Review and interpret contract terms and support the management of claims and variations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with Commercial, Finance, Legal, Design & Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Support the development and consistent application of commercial processes and best practice.
  • Assist with supplier negotiations and other commercial activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and wider commercial projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
