Senior Quantity Surveyor/Employer's Agent

We are currently partnering with a Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy based in London, who are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Employer's Agent to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position with a salary subject to experience, around £65,000 - £80,000. The start date is subject to notice.

Duties:

  • Preparing and managing cost plans and estimates, tender documentation and procurement strategies, contract documentation and reports
  • Managing post-contract duties including valuations, variations, final accounts
  • Acting as Employer’s Agent on projects, leading delivery from pre-contract through to completion
  • Managing the contractual and commercial aspects of projects under JCT and/or NEC forms
  • Leading project meetings and act as the primary point of contact for clients
  • Coordinating consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project outcomes
  • Leading and mentoring a team of 2–5 Quantity Surveyors / Assistants
  • Reviewing outputs and ensure high-quality delivery across projects

Experience required:

  • Strong background in cost consultancy / PQS environment
  • Proven experience acting as Employer’s Agent on projects independently
  • Experience delivering projects across residential, education, or public sector
  • Demonstrable client-facing experience, including leading meetings and presentations
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior staff
  • Strong knowledge of JCT (and ideally NEC) contracts

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong communicator with the ability to own client relationships
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
  • A team player who can also operate independently with minimal oversight
