Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Part-Time
2 Days per Week | Shrewsbury / West London | Healthcare Decarbonisation Project | 6–8 Months | ASAP Start
We are working with a growing consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major decarbonisation project within the healthcare sector. This is a part-time freelance assignment, expected to run for approximately 6–8 months, working around 2 days per week.
The role will be predominantly post-contract, supporting the commercial management and delivery of the project through to completion.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Post-contract Quantity Surveying and commercial management
- Valuations, variations and change control
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Assessing contractor applications and payments
- Supporting final account negotiations
- Monitoring project costs against budget
- Working closely with the client, contractor and wider project team
- Providing clear commercial advice throughout the delivery phase
- Supporting the successful delivery of a significant healthcare decarbonisation programme

About You
We are looking for an experienced freelance Quantity Surveyor with:
- Strong post-contract experience
- Experience working within a consultancy, client-side or commercial project environment
- Good knowledge of valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
- The ability to work independently and manage commercial issues proactively
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Previous experience within healthcare, energy, sustainability or decarbonisation projects would be advantageous

The role will require occasional travel between Shrewsbury and West London, depending on project requirements.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freelance QS looking for a flexible part-time assignment on an interesting and high-profile decarbonisation project.
