Job Opportunity: Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager
SJ Elite Search is delighted to represent their client, a Yorkshire-based haulage company, as they expand their team.
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects and contribute to our continued success.
Location: Yorkshire
Job Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all contractual aspects of projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Analyze risk on all contracts.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Monitor project budgets and control costs to maximize profitability.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage procurement processes and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
- Identify and manage risks associated with contracts and projects.
- Ensure timely resolution of contractual disputes and claims, (taking the lead in contractual disputes).
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management.
- Lead company insurance portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager.
- Strong knowledge of haulage contracts, procurement, and cost control.
- Experience in contract dispute resolution.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
