The Role
My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their London office as a Project Surveyor.
They work on an interesting range of projects which includes high-end residential, independent schools, and more.
Projects are valued from around GBP1m up to GBP180m.
They offer good APC support for those who are keen to become chartered with the RICS and they would also take someone who has recently become chartered as well as people who have three years + post-graduate experience as a PQS.
The Company
My client is a long-established busy firm of PQS with several offices.
The London office is expanding, offering good prospects for promotion.
The Candidate
- You will be a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.
- My client would like someone who has around three to five years post-graduate experience doing pre and post-contract work.
- You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying, i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or similar and have around 3 plus years experience working for a PQS firm either post-graduation or during your Degree if you were doing your BSc on day release.
- Also, they would take someone who has recently become chartered with the RICS.
- You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement, and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- You must be able to prepare cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation plus procure contractors and suppliers.
- You should have used JCT contracts.
- You will need to be able to monitor project costs, cash flow, and financial performance, etc.
- You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

My client will offer good prospects for rapid promotion for the right person as the London office is expanding.
Salary is in the region of GBP40,000 to GBP60,000 negotiable plus benefits include private medical and mental health cover, a performance-related bonus, life assurance, flexible / hybrid working, professional fees, etc.
