We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of major infrastructure projects across our East Coast portfolio, supporting the delivery of overhead line new build and upgrade projects across the East Coast of Scotland as we move towards the construction phase.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role on projects, helping to maximise value, manage costs, and support the successful delivery of critical works contributing to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.
The role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of a project, or a portfolio of works. You’ll play a key role in ensuring strong financial performance, driving cash collection, and maintaining compliance with company procedures.

You’ll also support and mentor junior team members, helping to build and develop a high-performing commercial team.
- Lead commercial activities across projects to maximise margin and control costs
- Prepare and submit applications, invoices, and cash flow forecasts
- Manage client relationships and support monthly commercial reviews
- Monitor project performance and escalate risks, variations, and commercial issues early
- Administer subcontracts, including certification and change control
- Manage change events, variations, and associated substantiation
- Support project setup, reporting, and compliance with company systems and processes
- Contribute to accurate monthly reporting and financial performance tracking
- Support procurement, plant management, and cost control processes
- Compile and agree final accounts

Essential
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
- Working towards or achieved professional accreditation (e.g. RICS)
- Experience within construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
- Good knowledge of project reporting and commercial systems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience within power, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
