Quantity Surveyor

Location: Worksop

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are working with an established engineering and construction business that delivers complex mechanical, civil, and multidisciplinary projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for multiple projects from tender handover through to final account. This is a primarily office-based role in Worksop, with occasional travel to UK project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  • Take full commercial responsibility for multiple concurrent engineering and construction projects.
  • Produce monthly cost value reconciliations and commercial reports.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee contract administration, including contractual notices, variations, and compensation events.
  • Manage subcontractor valuations, payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
  • Prepare client applications for payment and interim valuations.
  • Monitor project expenditure, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Managers, and Design teams.
  • Provide commercial input into project planning, programming, and risk management.
  • Support tender reviews and provide commercial feedback to estimating teams.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in engineering, construction, or heavy industrial projects. You should have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC, and other standard forms of contract.
  • Experience with subcontract procurement, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and commercial management systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
