Quantity Surveyor

Fit-Out Sector | Central London | Hybrid

A successful and established fast-track fit-out contractor is looking for an experienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial management of fit-out projects, working closely with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and senior management. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, maintaining strong commercial control, and taking ownership of project financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and develop clearly defined trade packages.
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries to obtain competitive and commercially viable quotations.
  • Prepare detailed tender and quotation comparisons and make recommendations based on value and commercial considerations.
  • Place subcontractor and material orders in line with project requirements, including key material procurement following site measurements.
  • Carry out accurate measurement of works on site and ensure valuations accurately reflect progress and contractual requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Attend and lead meetings with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients when required.
  • Prepare and present monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), providing clear visibility of project costs, commitments, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Report commercial performance and project financials directly to senior management and the Board.
  • Maintain effective commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and potential cost implications and take appropriate action.
  • Work autonomously with a high level of ownership while maintaining clear accountability to senior management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
