Experienced Project Quantity Surveyor

TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing construction business based in London. Working across a portfolio of residential construction projects, this is a fantastic permanent opportunity for a commercially focused QS who is confident managing multiple projects and taking ownership of the commercial process from procurement through to final account.

The QS will play a key role within the commercial team, working closely with project and site teams to manage costs, subcontractors, valuations, variations and commercial reporting, while identifying opportunities and ensuring projects are delivered successfully from a commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of multiple residential construction projects.
  • Manage sub-contractor procurement, appointment and ongoing management.
  • Prepare and review sub-contractor orders and contracts.
  • Price, assess and manage variations and changes throughout projects.
  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations to clients.
  • Review and agree client valuations and payments.
  • Produce accurate CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and provide regular commercial reporting.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage subcontractor valuations, applications and payments.
  • Review subcontractor accounts and ensure costs are accurately recorded.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Manage subcontractor final accounts and agree final costs.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider commercial team.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Experience managing multiple projects is essential.
  • Experience working on residential construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience with subcontractor procurement, appointment and management.
  • Experience pricing and managing variations.
  • Experience producing and managing monthly valuations.
  • Strong understanding of CVR production and commercial reporting.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience.
