Your New Company

Hays Construction are working in partnership with a well-established, family-run residential groundworks contractor who are looking to strengthen their commercial team through the appointment of a Quantity Surveyor.

Operating across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundworks packages for a range of regional and national housebuilders.

Their project portfolio includes:

  • Residential groundworks packages
  • Roads and sewers
  • Drainage works
  • Kerbing packages
  • Section 278 works
  • Infrastructure works for major housing developments

With a secure workload and strong client relationships, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor offering long-term career stability and progression.

Your New Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple groundworks and infrastructure schemes from pre-construction through to final account.

This role will be a mixture of office and site-based work, with projects located across Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
