NTS provides high-quality, bespoke Quantity Surveying services with a strong focus on historic building projects and high-end residential schemes. Role Description

The Quantity Surveyor will work full time in a hybrid capacity, based in Salisbury with the flexibility to work from home occasionally. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Preparing cost plans and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs
  • Producing regular cost reports for clients and project stakeholders

  • Assessing contractor claims

  • Contributing to contract administration

The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to ensure budgets are met, risks are managed, and financial records are accurate throughout each project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Strong cost planning and cost management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain accurate budgets.
  • Experience with cost control and cost reporting to track financial performance and support decision-making.
  • Proficiency in BOQ preparation and measurement.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes, ideally including heritage or conservation work.
  • Attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and competency with industry-standard QS software and MS Excel.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional membership or progress toward membership of a recognized body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is advantageous.
