Quantity Surveyor – Major Infrastructure Project

Tebay, Cumbria | £60,000–£65,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to work on a major, high-profile infrastructure project where you can take genuine commercial responsibility?

We're recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established project team delivering a significant civil engineering scheme in the Tebay area of Cumbria.

This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term project security, a strong benefits package and the chance to work alongside an experienced commercial and operational team on a complex infrastructure programme.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of the project from delivery through to completion, helping to maintain strong financial performance while managing contractual risk and maximising value.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Commercial management of contracts and individual work packages
  • Preparing valuations, applications for payment and commercial reports
  • Monitoring project costs and producing accurate forecasts
  • Managing measurements, valuations and project cash flow
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Supporting the preparation and management of contractual claims
  • Working closely with operational and project management teams
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
  • Helping ensure project margins and commercial objectives are achieved

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have experience working within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or transportation environments.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working in a commercial Quantity Surveying position
  • A construction-related degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience managing costs, valuations, forecasts and commercial reporting
  • Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with project teams, clients and subcontractors
  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability to work predominantly from the project site in Tebay

The role is primarily site-based in Tebay, Cumbria, with some remote working available.
