Burflex (Scaffolding) Ltd is a leading scaffolding provider operating from its head office and yard in Kingston upon Hull, with additional offices and yards in Leeds and Sheffield, supporting projects across the North, the Midlands, and the wider UK. The company holds extensive stocks of traditional tube and fitting scaffold and Layher Allround® system scaffolding, enabling versatile access solutions for a wide range of projects. Burflex is committed to continuous improvement, prioritizing customer needs, enhancing products and services, and regularly assessing employee competency to meet client requirements.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Leeds. The Quantity Surveyor will manage project costs from tender through completion, including preparing and tracking budgets, and supporting commercial decisions.

Day-to-Day Tasks:

- Cost planning
- Monitoring and controlling expenditure
- Preparing valuations and cost reports
- Assisting with the preparation and negotiation of contracts and variations
The role will involve working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure accurate financial forecasting, timely reporting, and alignment with company policies and health and safety standards. The Quantity Surveyor will also contribute to improving cost efficiency and supporting the delivery of scaffolding projects across the region.
Qualifications
- Ability to manage and control project finances, with skills in Cost Control and Cost Management.
- Strong skills in Cost Planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial evaluation of projects.
- Capability to produce clear and accurate Cost Reporting for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Relevant qualification in quantity surveying, construction economics, or a related discipline (degree or vocational equivalent).
- Experience working in construction, civil engineering, or scaffolding environments is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost management software, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with site and office-based teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Awareness of health and safety standards and industry regulations relevant to construction and scaffolding.
