Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor – High-End Residential

Location: Central London

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Sector: High-End / Super-Prime Residential

An established high-end residential contractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor or strong Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up and commercially run their own project. This is an opportunity for someone who wants genuine project ownership rather than continuing to manage individual packages within a larger commercial team.

You’ll take commercial responsibility for a high-end residential project in Central London, working alongside an experienced Project Director and with the support of a strong Commercial Director.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

High-end residential, refurbishment or fit-out experience would be ideal, but we’re equally interested in candidates from strong main contractor backgrounds with the right commercial grounding.

More important than the title is the individual. You’ll need to be commercially switched on, proactive, confident dealing with people and keen to take ownership.

For the right AQS, there will be support around you while giving you the autonomy to develop into a project-running QS.
