Quantity Surveyor (Highways and Civils Framework)

Location: Crawley / Central London (Hybrid)

Rate: GBP400 : GBP450 per day (Outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3 : 6 Months+

Project Overview

We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a major contractor on a newly awarded 4-year capital upgrade framework at Crawley. The multi-million-pound framework covers both landside and airside civil engineering and structural building schemes, including pavement renewals, utility diversions, and terminal enhancements.

In this role, you will initially oversee commercial delivery for 2 to 3 landside road schemes valued between GBP300k and GBP500k each. The projects are currently in the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) / design phase and will be delivered primarily under NEC Option E (Cost Reimbursable) and NEC Option A (Target Contract) forms.

Key Responsibilities

  • ECI and Pre-Construction Commercials: Price works, build target costs, and establish baseline budgets during the early design phase in preparation for site delivery.
  • Contract Administration: Manage applications for payment, variations, compensation events, and cost tracking under NEC Option E and Option A contracts.
  • Procurement and Commercial Control: Oversee subcontractor procurement, conduct on-site intrusive surveys, and track daily cost outputs to safeguard project margins.
  • Cost Reporting: Maintain detailed cost-to-complete forecasts and ensure full alignment between site activities and commercial reporting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
