Are you a commercially sharp Quantity Surveyor playing a pivotal role in the UK’s energy transition?

This role offers a unique mix of high-value project exposure and genuine room to grow. Focused primarily on post-contract management under NEC forms of contract, you will maintain critical commercial information, manage subcontract packages, track project variations, and drive client compensation events to maximise planned gross profit. Working side-by-side with our Division Commercial Manager (UK&I), you will be empowered to take as much commercial responsibility as you feel capable of.

Main Responsibilities:

The role involves a combination of post contract activities as main focus, with support on pre-contract duties to support your wider development in the Quantity Surveying profession.

Commercial & Contract Management (Post-Contract Focus)

  • Subcontract Management: Allocate work to subcontractors, support drafting the subcontracts, value completed works, process payment applications, review programme submissions, and manage monthly supplier KPI measurements.
  • Compensation Events & Variations: Identify, record, and evaluate variations and Client Compensation Events (NEC contracts) to safeguard planned project margins.
  • Cost Control & CVRs: Provide robust, timely, and accurate cost/value data at both project and regional levels, monitoring progress against project schedules.
  • Cost Analysis & Value Management: Perform risk and value management, cost analysis, and project cost controls throughout the lifecycle.
  • Contract Claims: Assist with advice on contractual claims and ensure full compliance with contractual requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
