Quantity Surveyor

Oxford

Talented people are the key to our success.

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is looking for a driven and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team, supporting the delivery of a multi-disciplinary Network Rail project in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a QS who wants genuine project ownership and exposure to all aspects of commercial management. Working alongside an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and Framework Commercial Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of the project, whilst developing the skills and experience needed to progress into a lead commercial role.

With construction now underway, you'll be joining a live project that encompasses civils, piling, groundworks, structural steelwork, lifts and M&E works, providing excellent all-round project experience.

What will you be doing?

As Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in managing the commercial performance of the scheme and supporting successful project delivery.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day commercial management of the project.
  • Administration and management of an NEC Option C contract with Network Rail.
  • Managing subcontract procurement activities and package awards.
  • Commercial management of subcontractors operating under NEC Options A, E and bespoke forms of contract.
  • Preparing, managing and reviewing client applications and valuations.
  • Managing change control, compensation events and upstream change management.
  • Supporting project forecasting, cost reporting and internal commercial reporting.
  • Reviewing subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts.
  • Working closely with operational teams to maximise commercial opportunities and manage risk.
  • Building strong relationships with Network Rail and key supply chain partners.
  • Supporting project close out and final account agreement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
