Job Title

Quantity Surveyor – NEC4 Professional Services Contract Specialist


Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a major defence-related infrastructure programme in Glasgow. This role is ideal for someone with in-depth NEC4 contract knowledge and strong commercial governance skills, capable of operating in a secure and highly regulated environment. You’ll be engaged via NRL on an Umbrella or PAYE basis for a 12-month inside IR35 contract, contributing to a nationally significant project.


Salary

Contract (inside IR35) – competitive umbrella and PAYE rates.


Location and Working Pattern

Hybrid role based in Glasgow, with on-site presence required 3–5 days each week.

Responsibilities

  • Administer NEC4 Professional Services Contracts (PSC) including early warnings and compensation events.
  • Provide commercial governance and maintain contractual compliance.
  • Support change management processes across the programme.
  • Engage stakeholders and manage interfaces in a joint-venture environment.
  • Monitor cost control and contract performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to security and regulatory requirements.

Must-have Requirements

  • Extensive NEC4 experience, ideally PSC, with strong grasp of contract administration.
  • Current SC clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
  • British sole nationality from birth (mandatory due to project restrictions).
  • Proven commercial and contractual experience within large infrastructure or defence projects.
  • Ability to work confidently in a joint-venture setting with multiple stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work on-site in Glasgow 3–5 days per week and operate inside IR35.
