Quantity Surveyor – Scaffolding

Location: London & South East

Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

About the Company

Our client is a well-established specialist scaffolding contractor delivering a wide range of access solutions across the commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure sectors. Working with many of the UK's leading principal contractors, developers and construction companies, they have built an outstanding reputation for delivering safe, reliable and high-quality scaffolding services on projects of all sizes.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in the scaffolding industry to join their commercial team.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple scaffolding projects from tender through to final account. You will work closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent commercial control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of multiple scaffolding contracts.
  • Prepare cost plans, valuations, forecasts and final accounts.
  • Administer subcontractor packages and payments.
  • Manage variations and change control.
  • Produce monthly cost reports and commercial updates.
  • Monitor project budgets, cash flow and profitability.
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers and operational teams to maximise commercial performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC and/or JCT contracts where applicable.

Requirements

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within the scaffolding industry is essential.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Experience managing multiple live projects.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
