Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Belfast (with hybrid working)
Employment Type: Permanent
Sector: Civil Engineering / Construction / Infrastructure/ Utilities
We are working with an established and leading design and build contractor who are looking to strengthen their Commercial team in Belfast.
For this role, our client is open to applications from candidates at either Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
The business is also open to considering candidates from a broad range of project backgrounds. Previous experience in water, utilities, MEICA or process-related projects would be beneficial, but is not essential.
This opportunity could suit someone from a civil engineering, building, infrastructure, fit-out, defence, education, healthcare or wider construction background who is looking for a long-term role within a stable and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing commercial aspects of projects and work packages
- Working with design, construction and supply chain teams to monitor, analyse and control costs
- Managing contractual notices and commercial correspondence
- Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
- Supporting the management and performance of subcontractors
- Preparing and agreeing applications for payment
- Producing cost and value reports, budgets and forecasts
- Supporting junior commercial team members where appropriate
- Building positive working relationships with clients, internal teams and supply chain partners

About You
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related subject
- NEC contract experience, ideally NEC4, or strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Ability to manage commercial duties across projects or work packages with support from a Commercial Manager
- Experience in civil engineering, construction, infrastructure, utilities or a related project environment would be beneficial but is not essential
- Chartered status, or working towards chartership, would be beneficial but is not essential
- CSR card or equivalent, or willingness to obtain this within the first month
- A positive, commercially aware and collaborative approach
