MRICS Quantity Surveyor – Super Prime Residential

London | Independent Consultancy | Exceptional Private Residential Projects

A highly regarded independent property consultancy is looking to appoint an MRICS Quantity Surveyor to join its London team, working on some of the capital's most exceptional private residential projects.

This is a business with an excellent reputation in the super-prime market, trusted by private clients to deliver complex, design-led schemes where quality, detail and discretion are paramount.

For a Chartered QS who enjoys the technical side of the profession but wants more ownership, closer client relationships and greater involvement in genuinely exceptional projects, this is a particularly interesting opportunity.

The Role

You'll provide full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across a portfolio of high-value residential projects, working alongside leading architects, interior designers, consultants and specialist contractors.

You'll have genuine responsibility for your projects and direct exposure to clients, with the support of an experienced senior team when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing feasibility estimates, elemental cost plans and detailed project budgets
  • Providing procurement and commercial advice to clients and design teams
  • Managing tender processes, analysis and contractor selection
  • Preparing and managing contract documentation
  • Producing clear and commercially useful cost reports
  • Managing valuations, variations and change throughout construction
  • Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks
  • Working closely with architects, interior designers and specialist subcontractors
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
  • Providing clear commercial advice directly to private clients
  • Taking ownership of projects from early design through to completion

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About You

You'll be an MRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor, most likely currently working within a consultancy/PQS environment.

Experience of prime or super-prime residential projects would be ideal, but isn't necessarily essential. We're equally interested in speaking with Chartered Surveyors from other high-quality, design-led sectors who have the technical ability and approach to make the transition.

You'll need to be comfortable taking responsibility for your own projects and dealing directly with clients.

We're looking for someone with:

  • MRICS qualification
  • Strong consultancy / PQS experience
  • Excellent pre- and post-contract knowledge
  • Strong cost planning and reporting skills
  • Good knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement
  • The confidence to manage projects and client relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach
  • A genuine appreciation for architecture, design and high-quality construction

Why Consider It?

The attraction here isn't simply the calibre of the projects.

This is an independent consultancy where good people are given responsibility.

You won't be one of several QSs servicing a large corporate account. You'll know your clients, understand your projects in detail and have the autonomy to provide the commercial advice you believe is right.

You'll work closely with experienced senior people within the business while being trusted to manage your own relationships and projects.

For someone performing well within a larger consultancy but beginning to wonder what the next few years really look like, this offers something different:

More ownership. More client exposure. Better projects. And a clearer opportunity to make an impact.

The Opportunity

Position: MRICS Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Central London

Sector: Super Prime Residential

Projects: High-value private residential schemes

Package: Competitive, dependent on experience

All enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
